“Emily Kate Genatowski, who attended the dinner with her robot, with whom she has shared her household for about a year, deserves special mention. She wanted to draw attention to regulatory issues and the potential usefulness of these mechanical companions – in Asia, for example, robots are no longer an exception in nursing and elderly care, she said. In a society that is fundamentally aging, it is important to consider, beyond all the reservations, how to integrate robotic assistants more into our daily lives. Genatowski deliberately refers to her robot as an "it" – households have been run by a "she" for long enough, she said.”
